Worlds of Play: It has been announced that the Game Art Exhibition will take place alongside Gamescom 2026 from August 27-29 in Cologne, Germany.
The event will take place at the WASSERMANNHALLE (Girlitzweg 30, 50829 Köln) and participation is free, but registration is required via the Game Worlds website. The venue is a bit far from the city center, but is accessible with the S12 or S19 trains which stop nearby at Technologiepark, and can be taken from Köln Messe/Deutz, the station next to Gamescom itself.
The showcase will feature 40 games with their immersive artwork and installations, divided into five themed zones – Reality, Experiences, Abyss, Epics and Wonderland – and including everything from DayZ to Control Resonant, Assassin’t Creed, League of Legends, the romance game Light and Night, and more. Expect original concept art, character statues, scale models, and even the chance to meet face-to-face with game creators.
The event was organized by Chinese publisher Tencent, in partnership with a wide range of publishers and developers.
