Spain won their second World Cup title by defeating Argentina in the final, with Ferran Torres scoring the North American’s winning goal.
Cucurella, who played a key role, honored his national team president with a tattoo after fulfilling a promise he made before the competition.
The defender revealed the new ink on Instagram, where he showed a photo of De La Fuente holding the World Cup with the 2026 tournament logo in the background.
Cucurella had previously vowed to get the tattoo if Spain lifted the trophy, and documented the entire process before unveiling the final artwork.
Cucurella says goodbye to Chelsea
The tattoo revelation comes shortly after Cucurella bid an emotional farewell to Chelsea following his summer move to Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old completed a £51m move to the Spanish giants ahead of the World Cup, and is set to reunite with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who is back for a second spell at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In a heartfelt message to fans, Cucurella spoke about his four years at Stamford Bridge and thanked everyone associated with the club.
“I arrived here as a young man dreaming of winning many trophies and playing in the Champions League,” he wrote.
“It was a difficult start, it’s true, but with hard work and effort we were able to turn things around.
“Thanks to this club and its high expectations today, I can honestly say that London will always be my home and will always be part of my story.
“I will never forget hearing my song on the field, the magical nights in the bridge, the trophies I won with this badge and all the love you showed me.
“I leave the club now as a man. I have achieved many of my dreams thanks to you and I want to thank you all for that.
“To the coaches and staff for all the advice you gave me, and to my teammates, for everything we lived together that I will never forget.
“To all the people who work at Cobham for making me feel at home from day one. I really hope to see Chelsea where they belong and deserve to be. Once blue, always blue.”
