Hong Kong International Airport’s expanded second terminal is set to open its doors to passengers on Wednesday, offering 25 new shopping and dining options.
While travelers will still have to take luggage into Terminal 1 for departure after checking in at Terminal 2, the renovated facility promises a number of amenities.
The South China Morning Post explores how travelers can make the most of their dining and shopping options.

1. What dining options are available?
The facility includes a spacious food court, with six restaurants open when it welcomes travelers on Wednesday.
These include TamJai SamGor Mixian, which serves rice noodles, and Milk Cafe, which is cha chaan teng. Fast food chains such as Jollibee and McDonald’s also have branches at the station, while those looking for Japanese cuisine can visit Ufufu and Yukimura Café.
For drinks, options include Nap Tea, Cupping Room Coffee Roasters and Sang Roastery. Travelers craving something sweet can head to Joy Full House.
Looking to the future, a “two-plate” rice shop is scheduled to open in September. These establishments, which have risen in popularity across Hong Kong, allow patrons to choose two pre-cooked main dishes accompanied by a generous amount of rice, at a reduced price.
