Rennsport Touring Classics Part 1 DLC brings old Hockenheimring and main game price drop tomorrow G Trends

After announcing and promising major changes earlier this year, Competition Company is now offering a second major DLC for Rennsport, bringing classic cars and tracks to the game and offering a 50% price reduction for the game.

The Touring Classics Part 1 DLC and an accompanying update launch tomorrow, with server maintenance starting at 8am UK time, and is expected to last 3 hours. Once the game is back online, Rennsport will also receive a permanent 50% price reduction – this was originally scheduled to happen last week, and you can learn more about the process here.

Touring Classics Part 1 brings a digital reconstruction of the Hockenheimring in its pre-2002 forest layout – after which it was modified because it did not meet the FIA’s minimum safety mandates. Recreated with modern technology, the team writes that “while it should be clarified that this is not an exact replica of the original, the soul of the track remains intact. It is long, deadly and blind. You are essentially entering a time machine that ignores the compromises of the present. Treat the forest with respect, or it will claim you.”

Alongside him are four touring car legends:

  • Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo
  • BMW E30 M3
  • Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI
  • Mercedes-Benz C-Class V6 DTM

And this DLC also brings 20 custom liveries inspired by Touring Classics, 348 new Rennsport Cup liveries on all vehicles for 50 50 RENN$ each into the game, and 8 Hall of Fame liveries for the GT3 cars in the game.

The free update released alongside the DLC introduces the Thermalito community track, originally created by DDF Racer and tweaked and tweaked in partnership with Nukedrop to fit into the base game’s lineup of tracks.

Next we have the HWA EVO.R car, a modern version of the 190E, and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

In terms of content, Competition Company has released many additions in recent months, from Laguna Seca to Circuit de la Sarthe to Sebring to Endurance Classics DLC last month. However, the team is still working on improved AI.

Tomorrow’s update will bring a “new iteration”, but not the overall overhaul planned for February. The AI driving logic has been reiterated with better collision avoidance, better cornering logic, better transmission discipline, better balance of performance and much more.

The complete AI overhaul will come later.
