Capcom has shined its spotlight on Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the expanded version of the 2024 action RPG coming to Nintendo Switch 2 as well as the original launch platforms on October 9.
Dark Arisen will add and improve three main areas of Dragon’s Dogma 2. The new story will be a major part of it, taking players to the northern region of Norgan. They also add 12 new challenge dungeons to the main area of ​​the game. And finally, the character customization tools are expanded with many more options for custom hair and tattoos, really allowing you to achieve the perfect look for your Arisen and main pawn.
Game director Kento Kinoshita explained in more detail what you’ll be doing in the icy wastes of Norgan. One of the determining factors will be collecting relics on expeditions, bringing them back for evaluation, and then crafting them into new weapons, skills, and armor. This allows you to venture further and explore the area to discover the secrets of the Fallen Dragon and Eir, the mysterious woman who pursues him.
On Nintendo Switch 2, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will only be available in its full, bundled form, but in addition to a new release on other platforms, existing owners will be able to purchase the Dark Arisen expansion separately. What’s nice is that newcomers who pre-order the Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Complete Bundle on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will get immediate access to the base game.
For the super enthusiasts who really need to play this soon, Capcom has confirmed that this game will be playable at Gamescom 2026.
Additionally, Title Update 3.2 will arrive at the end of August, bringing performance improvements, save system improvements, Dragonsplague tweaks, and other tweaks to game action, UI, pawns, enemies, and general bug fixes.
