Anyone who knows me knows that the only frustration I get from gaming, more than the yellow paint, quest markers, and horribly written dialogue, is that there just isn’t enough cow farming. Where is he? The gaming industry is sorely lacking in this area, but fear not, fellow monsters, Manor Lords has our back, because by the end of the month you will be able to raise your livestock to your heart’s content.
This is part of a beta update should be released by the end of the month and I should point out that it is not just about the procreation of cows. In addition to the pig farming you can do, you can also import them, with the milk makers all living on pastures where livestock farm workers (formerly called sheep farm workers) can collect their creamy bonus. You can also kill them to get beef! Additionally, pastures will now cost blueprints and will no longer simply appear now, with construction costs scaling based on their size. And to top it all off, there is a new type of artisan: the humble cheesemaker. No guessing what they do.
A few additional items will also come with this update. On the one hand, the structures have now been classified into two types, basic and advanced. In the latter case, you will need to hire qualified builders found at the new construction site. Doing this for basic structures will also result in faster build speeds. Construction sites should also be a little busier, as as advanced structures take longer to build, you’ll see workers doing things like moving water from nearby wells, with different stages of the process including things like scaffolding and cranes.
You can now also grow oats as a new crop, useful for feeding your families or as a new animal feed. Make sure to feed them too, otherwise they will starve in winter! It will also be possible to define the assignment by season in each workplace. Finally, there is a new map called Wide Valley which contains some pretty rivers. Remember that breeding cows is the important point here.
