After Taylor Parker was convicted of murder Reagan Simmons HancockIn a handwritten letter she sent to her former boyfriend’s father, she expressed her remorse for the crime.
In the emotional note received from TMZParker, 33, directly addressed ex Wade Griffin’s father, Jimmy Griffinand asked for forgiveness. Although she admitted she may not deserve his forgiveness, she said, “I asked God for forgiveness and I believe he showed it to me.”
Parker discussed her faith, her family and her relationship with Jimmy and Wade in the letter.
She also thanked Jimmy for the role he played in her life, explaining that he had “formed a bond” with her and that she would “cherish forever” their relationship. Additionally, Parker called Jimmy a wise man and said he taught her valuable lessons. She also said he taught her the importance of forgiveness.

As the letter continued, Parker urged Jimmy to be patient with Wade and insisted that her ex wanted to make him proud. “Wade is an amazing, strong, intelligent and loving man. He just has a hard time showing it,” she wrote.
Parker added that she felt lost and admitted she had many unanswered questions following her conviction. “I don’t understand how this happened or why. But I miss my kids and my family. But I’m fine. I’ve been praying,” she said.
She ended the letter by asking for forgiveness and reiterating how much she cares about Jimmy and Wade. “I loved you like a father, Mr. Jimmy. Please know that I truly loved Wade too,” Parker wrote.
The letter ended with Parker saying that she had also written a letter to Wade but had not yet mailed it. She then asked Jimmy not to tell Wade about the letter for him.
Parker met Wade in 2019 and a whirlwind romance quickly began between them. Just a few months into their relationship, she falsely claimed she was pregnant with their child in January 2020. However, his family became increasingly concerned as her due date came and went and they never addressed it later.

Weeks after her supposed due date of September 22, 2020, Taylor killed her pregnant friend Simmons-Hancock on October 9, 2020. After strangling and stabbing Simmons-Hancock, she performed a cesarean section to remove the unborn child and fled the scene with the newborn, umbilical cord and placenta. Parker later called 911 from a highway and claimed she gave birth on the side of the road.
Parker was then taken to McCurtain Memorial Hospital, where doctors concluded she had not given birth. She was subsequently questioned by an officer and arrested the same day after being linked to Simmons-Hancock and her daughter’s death.
In October 2022, she was found guilty of murder and kidnapping and later sentenced to death.
Her story recently gained national attention after the crime was featured in the Netflix documentary Maternal instinct.
