A car ran over a crowd of people during this Berlin’s famous LGBTQ+ parade On Saturday, killing one person and wounding at least 15 others, prompting police to cancel the event in the German capital hours after it began.
Police said some victims suffered life-threatening injuries. Fire engines and ambulances, along with several emergency teams, headed to the scene to provide assistance to the victims.
In a post on the X website, the police called on everyone to leave the event venue immediately. According to police, a car entered Tiergarten Park, near the Pride Parade route, and injured several people. Police did not know how many officers were deployed to the scene, but there were “definitely a large number of police.” They said they were looking for suspects.

“We are conducting an intensive search for possible suspects,” a police officer said in a short video clip posted on the Berlin police X account.
Hundreds of thousands of people came to Berlin on Saturday to celebrate the Berlin Pride Parade, known in Germany as Christopher Street Day. It is one of the largest companies in Europe LGBTQ+ parties.
The Pride event in front of the iconic Brandenburg Gate in the city center was canceled around 10:15 p.m. and the band’s on-stage performance was halted. People were urged to return home and avoid taking the route through the Tiergarten.
