I was in my senior year of college at Purdue at the time, a sorority girl and, not surprisingly, not the sportiest guy. So I can honestly say it was my first time at a race track!” she wrote.
Samantha explained that in the sweltering heat, she and the rest of the advertising team were assigned various tasks for the day. When a PR woman asked if she would like to ride in one of the cars – which had air conditioning – she said yes. She assumed that Kyle, who was driving the car, was also an advertising executive.
“I jumped in the car and the first thing I said when I saw him in his Chevy T-shirt and the ice cold car was, ‘Wow, you got a much better job than me,'” she wrote. “He looked at me funny because he assumed I knew who he was and then we were off. I did most of the talking, big surprise, and then invited him to go out with a group of us that night, which he declined because he had to work. I didn’t know he was having a truck race. So I thought that was the end of it until Mr. Shy had someone ask for my number.”
Samantha added: “We spoke on the phone for four months before we saw each other and went on a date and the rest is history! Another 16 years later and here we are with two kids! I love you baby 😍.”
