Britney Spears According to newly released footage, during her drunken arrest in March, she invited police officers to her home to eat lasagna and use her pool.
“You can come to my house. I’ll make you dinner or lasagna or whatever you want. I have a pool,” Spears, 44, told officers as she was stopped by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County, California, on March 4, as seen in a video released by TMZ on Thursday, May 21st.
According to a police report, Spears also spoke with a British accent at times Us weekly.
“Her mood changed from confrontational and agitated to flamboyant and compliant,” the arresting officer noted in his report.
The police report states that the officer who stopped the singer noticed a “distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage” in her vehicle. Spears told officers she had just had a champagne mimosa seven hours earlier.
“I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you. I’m an angel,” she said.
According to the report, the “Womanizer” singer confirmed that she had taken prescription medications on the day of her arrest, including 200 mg of the anticonvulsant and mood stabilizer Lamictal, 40 mg of the antidepressant Prozac and 2.5 mg of the ADHD medication Adderall.
“(An officer) found a brown purse containing a bottle of pills labeled ‘Adderall,’ which were not prescribed to Spears,” the report said. “(The officer) also noticed an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver’s seat and the front passenger seat.”
Us weekly has reached out to Spears’ rep for comment.
Spears was originally charged with driving under the influence, but in early May the star pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of “reckless driving in wet conditions” as part of a plea deal.
“With her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her behavior,” Spears’ attorney said. Michael Goldsteintold Us in a statement on May 4. “She has taken significant steps to implement positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charges in this case and dismiss the DUI charge. Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” said Spears’ rep Us after her arrest in March. “Britney will take the right steps and follow the law, and hopefully this can be the first step towards the long overdue change that needs to happen in Britney’s life. Hopefully she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
