Report: ‘Majority’ of ID software and up to half of online Zenimax businesses lost their jobs G Trends

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma today released a letter sent to Xbox staff that reveals about 4,800 job cuts, but also some bright spots. Compulsion Games (We Happy Few, South of Midnight) and Double Fine (Psychonauts, Keeper) become independent and Ninja Theory and Undead Labs are sold.

“We are also making reductions in other units and, in some cases, redirecting investments to focus on higher priority projects. These changes vary in magnitude across Activision, Bethesda/ZeniMax, Blizzard, King, Mojang and XBOX Game Studios,” she said.

This sentence does a lot of work because we have a report from Scott Miller, co-founder of 3D Realms, that “the majority of ID studios are licensed, including most (if not all) of the coders.”

My city are sources that suggest that half of Zenimax Online (The Elder Scrolls Online) has been abandoned.

Community Manager Jessica Folsom posted on the ESO Forum that they are still engaged in the game, but “the roadmaps we previously shared will change. We want to take the time to evaluate the work ahead of us and then set an updated timeline.”
