Russia is preparing a new major attack on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday on the Telegram app, citing intelligence data.

Speaking later in his evening video address, Zelensky said: “We have intelligence about Russia preparing a new large-scale strike.”

“Our services are responding quickly and are prepared. The Air Force and other defenders of the skies will operate 24/7, as they always do.”

Russia said on Monday it intends to launch “systematic strikes” on targets in Kiev and warned foreigners and diplomats not to leave the country.

She added that this measure came in response to a drone strike last week on a residence in the Russian-controlled Luhansk region of Ukraine, which killed 21 people. Ukraine denied carrying out the attack.
