Russian missiles hit Kiev, sparking fires across the Ukrainian capital G trends

Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, with missiles early Tuesday, sparking fires in widely separated areas of the city, senior officials said.

The weather alert in the city was lifted about 50 minutes later. No injuries were reported.

Timur Tkachenko, head of the capital’s military administration, said two storage areas were bombed and set on fire in the Holosievsky district outside the city centre.

The city’s mayor said: “Air defense systems are operating in the capital.” Vitali Klitschko He said on a telegram. “The enemy attacks Kyiv with ballistic missiles.”

He added that the fires broke out in the Holosievsky district, south of Kyiv.

Klitschko said the wreckage of the drone fell to the ground in an open area in an eastern suburb, and cars were set on fire.

Air raid sirens began sounding in the capital before six explosions were heard.
