Lindsie Chrisley has spoken out nearly two months after his arrest for driving under the influence.
“There’s nothing funny about what’s happened in my life,” Chrisley, 36, began the Thursday, July 16, episode of her Coffee Convos. Podcast with cohost Kailyn Lowry. “I’ve stayed off social media completely, I don’t read comments (and the apps don’t download to my phone). When people send me messages, I don’t get them.”
She continued, “While I want to acknowledge the fact that we have truly built a community that I value so much, it has been so good for me to step away from the noise.”
Thursday’s episode marked Chrisley’s return to “Coffee Convos” following her arrest.
Us weekly confirmed in May that the Chrisley knows best Alum was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving and speeding while operating her vehicle in Georgia. Chrisley was released on bail within hours.
“I was pulled over while passing a car at a high rate of speed on a two-lane road because it almost hit an animal and I tried to miss it and whatever the animal was,” Chrisley says TMZ said in a statement at the timeShe emphasized that she planned to “fight the charges.”
When addressing the incident on her podcast, Chrisley admitted that she has struggled with her mental health over the past year.
“I want people to understand that this is a form of entertainment for them and that we really love our job, it’s a job and a career,” she explained. “When you share things about your personal life so openly in your job, it can cause a lot of problems. I think the emotional state I’ve been in over the last year is partly because I’ve invested in what listeners are saying, or what the Reddit people are saying online, and the conspiracy theories and all of those things.”
Chrisley, who also asked for “grace” to talk about personal matters in her free time, continued the conversation on Thursday’s episode of her “Southern Tea.” Podcast.
“My arrest… is an ongoing legal matter. What I can say now is that I took the matter very seriously,” she said on her “Southern Tea” episode. “At this point, I need to focus on moving forward, growing, letting the legal process take its course and respecting that process.”
Chrisley further noted that her arrest and subsequent podcast break gave her time to “take a step back and reflect.”
“I do think it was kind of hard for me to say, ‘Okay, everything needs to be fixed and this shit needs to be fixed because you can’t keep going like this without dealing with heartbreak and betrayal and a lack of self-confidence,'” Chrisley said. “You can’t carry this on every day because I’ll just sit in it.” I think I’ve sat in it long enough. I don’t want to take anything lightly, but it was a great break for me.”
Lindsie is the daughter of ex-partners Todd Chrisley And Teresa Terrywho also have son Kyle. Todd is also the father of three children with his wife, Julie Chrisleywith whom he also adopted Kyle’s biological 13-year-old daughter Chloe.
