Jennifer Lopez was a very proud mother as she shared a behind-the-scenes look at her twins Max And Emma‘s high school graduation.
“They say I’m lucky, I don’t disagree… Just that feeling,” Lopez, 56, wrote alongside on Saturday, June 27 an Instagram carousel about the recent events in her life.
The photos show the twins celebrating their induction into the Class of 2026, as well as other personal milestones, such as commemorating the release of their new comedy Office romance on Netflix with a box of cupcakes and eating perhaps the world’s largest croissant.
Lopez has often thought about the prospect of becoming an empty nester in recent months, now that the twins will be heading off to two different colleges in the fall.
Earlier this month, Lopez told Extra that both Max and Emme had overcome adversity on their way to graduating from high school. (Lopez shares the twins with his ex-husband Mark Anthonywith whom she was married from 2004 to 2014.)
The “On the Floor” singer noted that the twins’ academic achievements were particularly inspiring because they have ADHD, which means they “learn differently and there have been struggles at times.”
“I’m so proud that they set goals for themselves. They all got into all five colleges they applied to. Each got a scholarship to a school,” Lopez said. “And I just felt like they worked so hard. I watched how hard they worked – from the moment they, you know, when school gets serious in fifth grade, they just worked hard, worked hard.”
She continued, “I’m just so proud of them because they did what they said they would do. They’re good people. They’re loving, kind-hearted people. And that’s what they always said. I would tell them, ‘What should I say?’ They say, “It doesn’t matter if we get good grades as long as we are good people.” I thought, “That’s right.” And sometimes they still quote that to me. That’s why I’m very, very proud of both of them.”
During an appearance in May on Jimmy Kimmel Live!Jennifer said she “cried for two months” at the prospect of the twins going to college. She confirmed that, similar to high school, Max and Emme attended two different universities.
“It’s OK. I want them to be happy, go where they want to go and do what they want to do,” she said.

Lopez admitted that she “never really thought about her twins moving out” until recently.
“I just never would have thought that far ahead,” she confessed to the host Andy Cohen. “I also thought they were so independent – I gave them roots and wings. (I thought, ‘It’s great, that’s how it is… it’s a healthy mom thing.’) And then a few months ago, I was just writing something for their senior thesis so they could put it in the program at graduation, and I just couldn’t do it… every time it comes up I just start crying. I could cry right now.”
