The Planet Crafter, the open-world survival and terraforming game that has gradually become one of Steam’s most famous titles, makes its console debut on July 21, 2026. Developed by Miju Games, a small independent studio based in the south of France, the game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Day One access included for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. This is a significant moment for a title that began as a two-man project and has since sold over two million copies.

For those unfamiliar with The Planet Crafter, the concept is refreshingly different from the survival genre’s usual fare. Rather than fighting waves of enemies or struggling to survive other players, you’re dropped onto a barren, hostile planet and tasked with making it livable. This means generating oxygen, increasing atmospheric pressure, melting ice caps, and gradually opening new caves, tunnels, and regions as your terraforming efforts reshape the world in real time. It’s the kind of game where progress really feels meaningful, and it’s easy to see why so many players have compared it to Subnautica. The difference here is that instead of exploring an alien ocean, you’re building an entire planet from scratch.

PC gaming’s reputation speaks for itself. Even two years after the launch of its version 1.0 in April 2024, it continues to attract thousands of daily players.
