Did you think Summer Game Fest was done and dusted? Well, Nintendo didn’t get the memo, announcing and hosting its Summer Nintendo Direct on Tuesday with a slew of announcements. Let’s dig.

Along with the reviews, we also got a batch of games in the Early Access and Switch 2 ports. Dead as a disco is off to a promising start as a musical action game, while The Rise of the Tomb Raider is a competent port, and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Switch 2 Edition is a mouthful for a pretty tasty upgrade.
We also got previews of the survival game Roman Romesteadthe prologue demo 1666: Amsterdamand Owlcat’s upcoming 40K RPG, Dark heresy. Rhythm Paradise Groove enchanted Reu with his offbeat rhythmic action, while I had a great time digging into Resonance: a legacy of Plague Talewhich makes for a very different style of action-adventure.
After getting our hands dirty, we spoke to Senior Editor of Resonance, Carol Ann Bañuls, and took Associate Producer of Crushed In Time Freddi Malavasi will be responsible for shipping another (deliberately) broken game.

- Andréwww verified with his continued journey through Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden – “It’s interesting, the story and atmosphere are pretty good. But there are so many side quests and things to do, so open world fatigue will definitely set in at some point.” But he’s also looking forward to Alien: Isolation 2, announced last week.
