Coco Gauff defends her singles titles at the second Grand Slam of the year at the 2026 French Open.
Defending men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz will not be able to win his third consecutive title due to a wrist injury that will prevent the world number two from playing at Wimbledon in June and July.
This means that Jannik Sinner is the most likely candidate to succeed the Spaniard, after he lost the final to Alcaraz in five sets last year.
Here are all the essential details to follow the 2026 French Open, including the schedule and how to watch on TV and live stream.

Who will win the French Open 2026? Contenders for Roland Garros
Judgment Wimbledon Champion Sinner is the top seed and started the tournament on a 29-match winning streak.
“He is probably at his best, and without Carlos here, it increases his chances of winning more Grand Slam titles,” Djokovic said.
“(Alcarez) has defended the title twice. Not having him is a big blow to the championship, but it doesn’t change my style.
“My main concern is my body. If I am healthy throughout the tournament, I will have a very good chance, as I showed in Australia (losing the final to Alcaraz).”
“We’ve talked a lot about how impressive (Sinner) is on all surfaces. People might wonder, because of his style of play, whether he’ll be as dominant on clay as he is on hard courts, for example.
“But he’s proven that’s the case too, which is really amazing. He’s got a lot of time.”
Sabalenka and Swiatek are the favorites in women’s singles, with Rybakina and Gauff also expected to compete.
“I’m very happy to be back,” Sabalenka said, explaining how she overcame physical fears and worked on improving her mental game.
“I definitely feel a lot better. I struggled at the beginning of the clay court season physically, but now I feel 100% good.

“We’ve been focused on recovery and making sure I’m all over the place and ready to go.
“My emotions were ruining my game and my level would drop dramatically when I would start overreacting to everything.
“My opponents will see that and they will step in and play better. So it was about making sure my opponent didn’t see what was going on in my head and, at the same time, putting in a better performance and staying in the zone.
“That has improved dramatically over the years in my career and has really helped me move up to the next level.”
