Raymond Wong Chan Fai, 55, told Chief Justice Victor So Wai Tak on Tuesday that he wrote offensive messages targeting police, judges and mainland Chinese residents on papers and threw them out his window to “vent off steam.”
He said he had no intention of sedition when he distributed the papers from his 13th floor apartment in On Tat Estate, Kwun Tong.
Wong lost his full-time job and was working part-time in the wake of anti-government protests in 2019 and the subsequent pandemic, his lawyer said.
“(Wong) accumulated resentment but did not know how to control the anger,” the lawyer said.
The court heard that the accused wrote letters calling for the killing of police officers, judges and mainland residents.
