I sure hope Crimson Desert’s new pet limit means I can own 100 pigeons at a time, even if I only have 50 at camp because Pearl Abyss are cowards. G Trends

Crimson desert. It’s essentially a do-it-all game at this point, so it’s not too surprising that the latest update released by developers Pearl Abyss takes Red Pudding further on the path to becoming a competitor to Nintendogs. The number of pets you can tame while walking around Pywel has gradually increased since launch and you can now have up to 100. This seems dangerously impractical, but hey, gaming.

Based on the patch notesthe studio sees achieving maximalism in pet ownership as its own challenge. We’ve “added reward items to the existing pet challenge that increase the number of pets you can register,” they mutter as they announce the increase in the total number of pet registrations to 100. In theory, this could allow a person to own 100 lazy pigeons or cats, thus establishing themselves as the lord of avian assholes or flabby felines.

Unfortunately, the notes specify that you can only summon up to 50 pets at a time to camp, so you’ll only be able to invite half of your pet army to a party at a time. This is sure to fuel some resentment within the ranks, making the task of commanding such a four-legged or two-winged force more difficult than you might think. Better start reading Sun Tzu or Machiavelli.

Beyond that, the update adds a map icon for baby wyverns, and allows secondary protagonists Damiane and Oongka to get by with mining drills and chainsaws. In another adjustment, any rare gear you lose will be picked up by traders and resold for higher prices. Finally, Pearl Abyss played with the pinball mini-game that they added in another recent update (I told you, everything is a game). Red Pudding pinball should now be easier, with its balls having a slightly heavier feel and less propensity to go through walls.

Yes, fewer bullets through the wall, as Crimson Desert developers continue to throw bullets through the wall with updates. I’m here all week.
