Ousmane Dembélé suffers a calf injury just 12 days before Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League final against Arsenal.
The current Ballon d’Or holder limped out of Paris Saint-Germain’s match against Paris last night after 27 minutes, worrying the European champions.
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said after the match that he was confident that the matter was not serious and could just be fatigue.
Club statement today He failed to provide much clarity but confirmed that the French striker is struggling.
The statement read: “After he was substituted as a precautionary measure after he felt some discomfort in his right calf against Paris FC yesterday evening, Ousmane Dembélé will remain on the treatment table for the next few days.”
Dembele’s potential absence gives Arsenal a big boost
Although PSG’s squad is full of talent, it would be a huge boost for Arsenal if the former Barcelona player was left out.
Dembélé has struggled with nagging injuries throughout his career. He suffered a left calf injury in November that kept him out for two games. He witnessed the same thing in February, but he overcame that to provide some brilliant performances as the Parisians reached the final, retaining the French League title.
