You’ve probably heard of a baked bean, runner bean, or kidney bean. But have you heard of Killer Bean (which is also a coffee bean)? If you watched the 2024 Summer Game Fest showcase, you might remember the action-packed trailer for Killer Bean, which showed the main character taking on the Shadow Agency, his former employers. Soon you will be able to shoot, drive and dive in Killer Bean as it launches on June 8 on Steam Early Access.
In the announcement post, developer Killer Bean Studios said: “A big thank you to the Killer Bean Steam community, especially the 6,200+ players who helped me test the game for 2 years. I definitely wouldn’t have found all these bugs on my own. You also found creative ways to break the game that defied imagination!
The studio also confirmed that the early access price for Killer Bean will be $14.99, and there will also be a launch discount. The price will increase as content is added during the Early Access phase which is expected to last two years, with major content updates every two months. For starters, Killer Bean Early Access will include the full single-player campaign, battle arena, Dance Party mode where you take down groups, conquest mode, procedurally generated islands, and four factions. The full version will include cooperative game modes, Jet Bean as a playable character, as well as more missions and bosses so that campaigns can be randomized, allowing players to experience different stories when starting new campaigns.
