Hull City and Millwall championship The semi-finals of the play-off are still in the balance after a goalless draw in the first leg.
The Tigers almost took the lead in the second minute when Mohamed Belloumi came close to scoring after a wonderful solo shot from the left side.
Camille Negley hit the post with a long-range shot for Millwall, with their star player, Femi Azeez, forcing Hull goalkeeper Ivor Pandor into action as the game opened in the dying minutes.
Ryan Leonard put the ball in the net four minutes from time, but his effort was disallowed due to a foul by Tristan Krama on Charlie Hughes.
“I thought we were the better team, so I might not be satisfied if I’m honest just because we were better in the game – they didn’t really risk the ball,” Millwall coach Alex Neil told Sky Sports.
“We could have moved the ball better and Barry Bannan coming on gave us more control of the game.
“If I had said at the beginning of the season that we would have one home game to reach the final, and everything would have been fine, I would have accepted that.”
Regarding the disallowed goal, he added: “I thought it was really quiet, and both players were into it, so it will be interesting to see Gavin’s (referee Gavin Ward’s) thoughts on it when he watches it again.
“Throughout the game, he left a lot of things out, but it will be interesting to get his thoughts on it, and I’m sure he will say he thought it was a mistake.”
