Jonathan Taylor Thomas meets up with fellow DIY enthusiasts again G trends

Jonathan Taylor Thomas made a rare public appearance to catch up with his ex DIYer Co-stars Patricia Richardson And Taran Noah Smith more than two decades after the show’s finale.

“My other boys ❤️” Richardson, 75, wrote Instagram on Wednesday, July 29, shared a new photo with Smith, 42, and Thomas, 44, on either side of the actress.

Smith and Thomas portrayed two of Richardson and her TV husband Tim Allen‘s sons up DIY enthusiasts, which ran from 1991 to 1999. For his part, teen icon Thomas, took a step back from acting before the final season to attending college.

“I’ve been on the move constantly since I was eight years old. I wanted to go to school, travel and take a little break,” Thomas explained in a 1998 interview. “Sitting in a large library among books and students was pretty cool. It was a new experience for me.”

The next year, Thomas confirmed that he had made “a good decision” for himself.

“I made such a good decision,” he told reporters at the 1999 Kids’ Choice Awards. “If I had stayed at Mass and tried to do what I’m doing now academically, I would have, you know, gone to an early grave.”

Since Thomas was pursuing a career outside of Hollywood, he was stepped back from the limelight complete.

“Jonathan isn’t really interested in acting, he wants to direct and write,” Richardson said on the “Back to the Best” podcast. in 2024 and noted that she was in regular contact with her former TV sons Thomas and Smith. “Taran (also) hasn’t acted since he left the show. He’s not an actor anymore.”

Richardson, for her part, is now reunited with Allen, 73, in his sitcoms Last man standing And Changing gears. Allen further teased that the door was open for his former TV sons to also make guest appearances.

“Everything is a possibility. (Jonathan) just came back,” Allen told exclusively Us in 2025which revealed that Thomas appeared off camera. “He showed up on set. He’s literally my child. I raised this child for eight years DIYer.”

Thomas, who appeared in four episodes of Last man standingalso directed some episodes of the now-concluded sitcom.

“It took me a while to be that (father figure),” Allen said told Us in an interview in January. “For a while, I felt more like a fun, mischievous older brother – especially with the boys DIYer.”
