Carlo Ancelotti says Brazil are ready to make a strong start to their campaign World Cup campaign as they prepare to face Morocco in their opening match at MetLife Stadium.
The Brazilian coach spoke in a calm and confident tone during his pre-match press conference, insisting that his team is capable of competing with any team in the tournament.
Brazil begins its tournament campaign against the Moroccan team, which Ancelotti considers one of the strongest countries in Africa, but the Italian coach believes that his team is well prepared for the challenge that awaits it.
“We are ready”
Ancelotti said that the atmosphere inside the camp was positive throughout the preparations and expressed his confidence in Brazil’s future after the opening match.
“We have a good feeling about this World Cup,” he added.
“Not only for this first match, but for the tournament as a whole. We have worked hard and we are ready. The players are ready.”
The former coach of Real Madrid, Milan and Chelsea described himself as an optimist, and reiterated his belief that Brazil has the quality required to compete for the biggest prize in international football.
Respect Morocco
Despite Brazil’s position as one of the favorites to win the tournament, Ancelotti warned against underestimating Morocco.
The 67-year-old praised the organization and quality of the North African team, noting the increasing competitiveness of international football.
He added: “In modern football, there are no small teams.
He added: “Morocco is one of the strongest teams in Africa and is a very well prepared team.
He added: “We expect a difficult match against an organized team that knows exactly how it wants to play.”

Ancelotti added that Brazil’s focus will be on presenting a disciplined and organized performance in the opening match.
Positive update on Neymar
The Brazil coach also provided an update on Neymar, who continues to work his way back to full fitness after joining the squad.
Ancelotti remains optimistic that the striker could return to action in the near future.
He said: “Neymar is working hard and we are doing everything we can to help him recover as quickly as possible.”
“We think there is a good chance he will be available next week.

He added: “He is important not only because of his technical ability, but also because of his experience and the example he sets for the younger players in the group.”
Goal celebrations are still welcome
Ancelotti was also asked about FIFA’s recent efforts to reduce time wasting and whether players will still be free to celebrate goals with choreographed dances and routines.
The Brazil coach denied any concerns.
He said: “The new rule does not prevent players from dancing.”
“It is designed to improve game timing control.
“Players can celebrate however they want as long as it is done respectfully.”
