A domestic worker was injured and two cats were killed in a fire believed to be caused by a faulty pet water dispenser at a village home in Hong Kong on Monday morning.
The fire broke out at around 11.20am in a third-floor apartment in Wong Yi Oo Tsuen, Tai Po.
Firefighters arrived to fight the flames and rescued a 47-year-old Indonesian assistant along with two cats.
The fire was extinguished about 20 minutes later, at 11.40am.
The aide, who inhaled heavy smoke, was taken to Alice Ho Miao Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment.
Firefighters attempted to resuscitate the cats at the scene, but they were later confirmed dead.
