An announcement for Planet Zoo 2 seems to be pretty close, as the zoo sequel’s branding has been popping up everywhere. the game’s YouTube channel.

There’s no indication of when the announcement will take place, with no placeholder videos or live streams found in sections of the channel, but since the PZ2 branding has already been uploaded, you’d expect it to be imminent. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information.
The popular zoo management game celebrated its sixth anniversary at the end of last yearinitially launched on PC at the end of 2019 before the arrival of a console port in 2024.
Frontier’s multifaceted approach to management simulation has juggled Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo, Jurassic World Evolution and (previously) F1 Manager over the past decade. In many ways, Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo were considered definitive entries in their particular segments, which saw Frontier receive a lot of criticism with Planet Coaster 2 a few years ago. Planet Coaster 2 was good, but is not considered by the community to be a particularly significant step forward from the original. Hopefully Planet Zoo 2 can avoid similar problems, although there’s more in common between a zoo and a dinosaur park, and we loved Jurassic World Evolution 3 last year.
Looking back on the original game, Dom said in our Planet Zoo review: “Planet Zoo is simply wonderful; a bright, breezy park builder that bursts with enthusiasm for its charges. There’s depth to spare here, going further than one of Frontier’s more recent management games, and it builds on its own identity, with a keen eye on the importance of animal education, welfare, and preservation.”
